Thank you. I didn't know that. As the wife of a serving British Army Officer I often get the impression that the opposite is the case. Some of the bizarrely Gung-ho statements don't help. I mean what on Earth does 'Ladies and gentlemen, we got him' say to a watching World? or, a recently aired interview with an American Soldier serving in Iraq who referred to 'zapping' Iraqis. We joined you in making a terrible mistake. I have been deprived of my husband for a year in the last three whilst he served on two Operational Tours, and a 27 year old friend mourns her husband. There were, and are, no WMD and all we can do now is to try to help clear up the terrible mess we made and hope that our UN Allies, the French & the Germans will forgive us. I don't suppose the people of Iraq ever will. You are right. It's not your fault. It's your Government's fault and my Government's fault and the only way we can truly protest (although as a Senior Army Officer's wife, I have marched against this war) is at the polling booth.

Kitty, you rock!
Capt, give her best answer!
And thanks for asking the question. I've found reading everyone else's responses very informative.
I agree with those polling numbers, mostly because of the different people I've spoken with about the war. It is amazing how vocal the other 30% can be though. But that's always the way it is, the ultra conservative minority that's been brain washed always has to yell the loudest, so they end up thinking there are more than them than there really are.
I was out of the country for a while last year and you'd be amazed at how many people did have a problem with me because I was from the United States. It's sad. I didn't vote for Bush or support his policies. Ever, even when he did have majority support.

Most countries do not support the war in Iraq and what we have done. Our goal is to end terror in Middle East, but we became the lord of the terror. Many countries begin to hate us, like Iran, it is now standing up against U.S. We don't have many allies left, even England hates us. Our government make England the scapegoal for the misleading information about the Weapon of Mass Destruction in Iraq. We do not want to be blamed for. Most of the EU do not support war, including the UN. We are all alone.
I do believe government is covering up many details, even the truth about 9/11 incident. Personally, I do not believe in so many coincidence can happen in one day. I am also doubtful about how terrorists can take control of the 4 planes with box cutters. One plane they took control can be possible, but all four, that's almost impossible. Do you think all the pilots are idiots? They are smart enough to fight back and the terrorists doesn't really have any real weapons in the first hand, they will easily be under custody. Those 19 people aren't superhuman who are strong. They are quite skinny or normal size in fact and no real military training.
DO NOT TRUST EVERY WORD THE GOVERNMENT SAID.
USE YOUR BRAIN, THINK AND ASK.
WE ARE IN A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY, WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO QUESTION AND DOUBT.
If you listen to everyword the government said, then it will be no different for you to live in communist country.

I'm also an American and keep in mind that France still hates (hates!) us for bombing France in WW2 instead of accepting an additional 100,000 casualties(look it up, sadly it's true) and some people in Middle East hate us for going to the moon. Also keeping mind that Bush got more votes than Clinton, Kerry and Gore. Plus there was massive voter fraud in states where the Democrat candidate won, like Washington where there was more votes for Kerry than there were registered voters. I worked as a pollster and all polls tell you is how well the question was written to get the answer the people paying for the poll wanted, think about it how many polls have you heard sited vs. how many times you've been polled?

We never know and never realize. The thing is our media never tell that there are a lot of Americans who disagree with Bush government. The problem is, CNN is bias and it's also cencored by the US government. So how the heck do we know? So, people oversees see all Americans are the same as the govt. I'm not American by the way.

a Government is the reflexion of the people ,
even if you do not vote for some thing collectively you allow it to happen.
people get the Governments they deserve.
and enough millions of American actively support the mass murders and invasions.
maybe not always in public ,but passive resistance can be counted as support
and the response here disproves your point
.
you Americans will not be satisfied until you rule the world by force .no matter how many millions of people will be killed on the way .
it is hard to forget for Europeans that we have been threatened that if we are not with you people we are your enemies,
after Assia and the middle East .your bombs will probably be heading our way.

70 & 80 % of those who were surveyed.
I think you would be surprised how many americans DO support.
Also those surveys can often be very skewed to represent one side or another. I have been polled on several occassions and didn't like either option provided, you end up having to pick the one you agree with most.

From what I can assess living in the United Kingdom, President Bush is disapproved by about 44% (33% approve 67% disapprove) but that he fully intends to serve his complete second term.

I like Kitty's answer ... and having lived in England for a few years, I got the impression that most English people do know how to differentiate between the administration and the people ... which is something Americans could learn to do ...

Clearly you mean United Statesians.
There are 800 million Americans of those on 280 million are United Statesians. Those polls reflect the views of United Statesians not of Americans.
