I had morning sickness bad. Actually, it was all day sickness and I worked two jobs. One for an airline and another at a casino on the strip in Las Vegas. I could not keep anything down and favorite foods of mine quickly became arch enemies. Snack on saltines and soup, just like you had the stomach virus. Try and eat what you can, but I had it non-stop for the first 3 months. AND I had to move from Las Vegas back to Atlanta. My dad flew out to help me drive back and we had to stop constantly so that I could puke.
Ensure makes a shake for pregnant woman. Drop by Motherhood Maternity store and pick up a few of those, that will help keep your nutrients up, or just get regular Ensure. Yoplait Nourishe Yogurt drinks are good too.
Your body is just trying to reject the baby as if it were a virus. It knows there is something forein in you and its a fight or flight situation. In time it will subside. I slept a lot and threw up all the time. Even a hot shower made me sick, so I had to take warm ones...and I took them often.
Keep yourself hydrated, drink plenty of water. Try not to drink a lot of gatorade or powerade because that could get your electrolytes too high. Plain water is the best. One thing I found, for me, that I could keep down was fresh fruit. I ate a lot of pineapple and fruits that were very juicy. It will pass in time, but the first few months are very rough. Another reason to stay hydrated is to prevent yourself from getting constipated. I felt it was much worse being pregnant than not and I was getting it bad and often the first few months. So, keep yourself well hydrated and stay away from soda as much as you can. But force fluids...or you will end up in the ER on an IV. I felt bad because I couldnt eat much. I was afraid I was starving my baby. But, its all natural, you just have to make yourself drink and eat what will stay down.
Dont feel bad about being tired. Rest and sleep as much as you want to and possibly can. I didnt get my energy back until I was around 4 months pregnant. Im almost at the end, and Ive slowed down again. Ive got 3 1/2 weeks left and all I want to do is lay around. Your energy will come back in time, just relax, dont worry, stay hydrated and eat what and when you can.
Good luck!!

Do NOT take any medications without consulting your doctor. Officially, Tums is probably alright and so are some types of Tylenol, but even then you should check. At 7 weeks your child's major organs are slowly developing, as well as its limbs. It is important not to risk hurting it.
The iron taste in your mouth is a common side effect, as well as nausea and a headache. I am pregnant right now as well and I feel nauseous and lack any appetite whatsoever. I make myself eat; foods that are easy to palate for me are a good option. I like white rice, veggie burgers, salads with some meat and cheese shredded in, cubed fruits like honeydew and pineapple and apple (easy to munch!), and I drink skim milk or V8 juice. I really reccommend finding food that you can at least enjoy the taste of.
After I eat I always feel sick and full and disgusting, and I don't feel hungry at all, whether I eat or not. But making myself eat is an important step. Drink water, V8 juice or whatever you can drink, but make sure you get 6 - 10 cups a day, or about 3 average waterbottles like Dasani or Aquafina.

Try taking some tylenol and resting. I know how you feel, I'm 8 weeks. The OJ is a good idea, but it may cause heartburn. Eat some crackers and lie down. You may try getting up 30 minutes before you have to and eating some crackers before you get out of bed. Try taking some Tums chewables, these help me. There really is nothing you can do, except rest. This will go away in a couple of weeks. Good Luck!!

I hate to rain on your already wet parade but I was like that for 6 months. The doctor told me to drrink coca-cola syrup. Was nasty. Not sure if it helped. But I weighed 20 lbs less after I got out of the hospital then when I became pregnant. I had a pretty big kid, so I guess I ate enough. I concentrated on fruits, veggies and healthy foods. I knew I was not eating a lot and nothing was going to taste good, so I just worried about the baby. He was fine.
Talk to your doctor. Things may have changed in 21 years.

I am six weeks and my symptoms are very similar, but you cannot let those sick feelings get the best of you... You need to get up in the morning, take a shower, take your prenatal vitamin, eat breakfast, something light, eat soda crackers as they claim that it helps with the nausea, try to do some walking, I have a treadmill, so I get on it for 1/2 hour, try to get energy yourself., do not let the pregnancy take over you... take control of your body., I know that it is difficult... I am doing it each day and I am getting much better....

Orange juice is the way to go. I've been through it. Orage juice should help the metal taste. Gingerale for the nauseau. Your headache will go away naturally.
Hope this helps.
PS : Eat crackers and grapes

Try dry toast, with just a little bit of butter. And room temp ginger ale. Theres something in ginger that helps with the nausea. ANd make sure you drink lots of water. It will keep you hydrated which is most important. I feel your pain, but remember its almost over. Then its all about the baby. Good luck!!!

sucks, eh? I swear we go through this so we don't notice labour, we're so used to suffering by then. Maalox, lots of rest, there's not much we can do, but if you're vomiting a lot, see the doc, they have some things for that. (all of which I'm allergic to) otherwise, realize what your body is going through, and you will smell and taste different because of it too. Good luck.
