How do you memorize a poem?

Read it. How does it affect you emotionally? Try to relate to the poem. Then, just do the grunt work of memorizing. When you get stuck, try to remember how it made you feel and that can lead you to your next line, etc.

If you have trouble memorizing there are a few tricks. Scent is the attatched to memory so wear a new perfume while studying, then wear it again when you need to remember the poem.

If you are a kinesthetic learner you might try walking around while memorizing.

we always had to do this in school,i would read the poem,then memorize the 1st line,then memorize the 2nd line,adding the 1st line to it all the way to the end! it can be done,when you think you know it,write it,see how close you are,then say it with no flaws,good luck,robin

i had to memorize a poem in 4th grade. go by stanza. write the 1st stanza down 5 times on a peice of paper and read it ten times. then keep going. after you do the same thing for the second stanza repeat the memozired part twice. it may sound silly and you may get sick of it but it works!

Read line to line many times and make it like a lyrics to sing,that works for me.

Try creating a rhythm that goes well with the words that always works for me or just keep repeating each sentence until its just stuck in your mind
