no it doesnt. i have been using it. in the instructions in hte pack it says that it doesnt do anything like that. so dont worry. i find them convenient to use than pads which give me rashes. stop worrying and start using it. take care

NO your Friend is wrong.Some physical activities like cycling ,long jump and some other sport activities may open the hymen but not a tampon.So you can safely use it but remember to change often .
