With all the competing technologies out there it's hard if not imposible to judge. Since desktop benchmarks say that the AMD 64 bit processor is better than intel's best the best laptop will be the first turion2x

For all around. the best is the MAcBook Pro. If useing bootcamp, it can run window xp, and MAc OS. It is also a great gaming laptop with a radeon x1600. If u want it to do work, get microsoft office for mac put on it, but still get bootcamp on it.

Get a MacBook. They have the best processors on the market and are also the most stylish. Did I mention the media software and the invulnerability to viruses?

Toshiba and Sony have the best screens at the moment. HP is catching up. I'd say go for a Sony. Those are the coolest.

it depends upon your usage. for me an ibm think pad / lenovo laptop is good because they are long lasting and are available with all possible features and cheaper than many others

There is no best... You can only buy what works for you. Depends on what you want to do with it. hard core gaming takes better hardware for exsample

im not sure but if you want FAST, get a gaming laptop. there is a lot of memory on those. but there expensive.
