Is every single string in tune? If not, it won't sound right. It sounds like you're tuning correctly. Just to be sure, you're tuning (from the top): E B G D A E, right? Also, it will only tune 1 string at a time. (not chords...)

What the hell kind of tuner is this that you speak of? I used to use the old-fashioned blow-pipe tuner, with six mouth tubes tuned to E, A, D, G, B, & E. There were
no indicator lights.

When you play an instrument, you are playing SOUNDS, so you should tune your instrument accordingly, by sound, and not by indicator lights.

well. u blow or play the tuner and while u do that, strum the guitar string that ure tuner is playing like if the tuner is playing A, then strum A and turn the knob for A on the guitar until the A ure playing on the guitar sounds like that A playing from the tuner. and then same goes for all the other notes.

OR. if u need to and wat i wrote above doesnt help, go to a music store and buy a new tuner.

hope that helps!

Your trying to use an electronic tuner?

I always found it easier to tune it to an already tuned guitar. Try comaparing to something in tune be it a guitar or a piano.

Not all tuners are created equal. I've gone through 3 or 4 that were junk. If you find out that your using it right, and it still gives you problems, try a new one. I use a Korg GA-30. Best tuner I've ever used.
