Rap usually is. Rock can be but isn't overall degrading like rap is.
Rap overall has two lyrical topics : lust & anger. Rock songs can and does cover anything.

Rap yes, but rock only very little. More the old rock, newer metal, and emo especially emo is not degrading.

HOw do you figure that music can be degrading? It's the people behind it that degrade. People have to be perfect or they are not
"in" and that is the travisty here not the music.
