Well...if you've got a DVD-recorder...Then you just go onto the menu screen and delete whatever is on the disk. That will give u free space to record the next programme!

Or if you're using the computer to burn disks, you can either right click on the DVD icon in My Computer, and erase disk...or use a programme like 'Nero' to erase it and write whatever it is you're putting onto it! :-)

They are all forms of recordable media. The -R means it can be written once (although you can continue to add files until full under some circumstances). The -RW means re-writable. These disks can be written over many time just like a regular disk. CD's have a max capacity of 700MB or 70 minutes of recorded music (when written as an audio cd). DVD's have a capacity of 4.7GB and the length of vidoe that can hold depends on many factors including vidoe quality and compression. You also have DVD-R DL which mean dual layer. These disks are equivelent to a DVD movie you purchase. You have to have a dual layer burner, but you can burn up to 8.4GB(???). On DVDs you also have + & - formats. I don't really know what the difference is other than they are, in fact, different formats. If your drive is only capable of reading and/or writing one type, it won't recognize the other. When buying media, just remember that DVD+R is not the same as DVD-R and that the + is not short hand for 'and' and the - is not just a dash or separator.

Use your CD/DVD Burning software to format the DVD-RW. When it is finished you can add more data to it.
