Multiply each side of the equation by (x+3)(4-x)

4(4-x) = 6(x+3)
16-4x = 6x+18
-10x = 2
x = -1/5

I THINK:
Multiply by (x+3) and (4-x) to get 4(x+3) = 6(4-x) - that is the bit I'm not sure about.

Then multiply out the brackets to get 4x+12 = 24-6x

Then add 6x to both sides to get 10x+12 = 24

Then subtract 12 from both sides to get 10x = 12

Then divide both sides by 10 to get x = 1.2

It is good that you are asking for the steps (though I expect this is to show 'your' working rather than to help your understanding, but if you are stuck then ask a teacher. They do want you to understand.)

4/(x+3)=6/(4-x) Given

4(4-x)=6(x+3) Means/Extremes

16-4x=6x+18 Distributive Property of Equality

16= 4x+6x+18 Add "4x" to both sides

-18+16=4x+6x Subtract 18 from both sides

-2=10x -18+16= -2 4x+6x=10x

-2/10=x Divide 10 from both sides

-1/5 (or -.2) is "x" Ruduce

4/(x+3) = 6/(4-x)
4(4-x) = 6(x+3)
16 - 4x = 6x + 18
16 - 18 = 6x + 4x
-2 = 10x
x = -2 / 10
x = -1/5 or -0/2

4/(x+3) = 6/(4-x)

multiply both sides by (4-x), you get

(4-x) (4/(x+3))=6 which equals 4(4/(x+3)) - x((4/(x+3))

you can slove the rest yourself, I'm sure!

4/(X+3) = 6/(4-X)

x (X+3)(4-X) highest common factor

4(4-X) = 6(X+3)
16 - 4X = 6X + 18
6X + 4X = 16 - 18
10X = - 2
X = - 2/10
X = - 1/5

bringing like terms 2gether (cross multiply)

4/6= (x+3)/(4-x)

2/3= (x+3)/(4-x)

cross multiply

2(4-x)= 3(x+3)

8-2x = 3x+9

like terms 2gether again

8-9 = 3x+2x

-1= 5x

therefore: x = -1/5= -0.2
