The World Cup is intended to be a peaceful bringing together of countries from all over the world through sport. However, Iran is currently a recognized terrorist nation, due to its recent elections of the Hamas government. Should I nation that, through terrorist activity to attack Israel in an undeclared war, be allowed to take place in such an event. Please consider the similar situation with the Germans during the Munich Olympics.

first off: i never said that they shouldnt be allowed. i just was curious if i was the only person who was thinkin the same thing. secondly: the players in the cup represent their country, and therefore, the Iranian players are representing their terrorist government. thirdly: my younger bro was tryin to sell his cards and i was helpin. so calm down, go change ur dirty diaper, and enjoy some soccer. i enjoyed watchin Iran lose is all i can say

Iranian wants peace too. the german munich olympics, was done by other /different people. not all iranian are the same.
not everyone /not all countries agree /on US-side in the Iranian nuclear situation.
the Hamas government can exist because of the US policy... I'm not Iranian, and I often agree with the US. I think many people are not objective anymore, and politics is always dirty.... do not mix it up with sports

The Iranian government is not headed by Hamas, that is the Palestinian government. The Iranian team is playing football at the World Cup, not committing terrorist acts. Though the Iranian president has made some threatening comments towards Isreal, but so has the United States towards Iran. As for a 'peaceful bringing together of countries from all over the world', the tournament so far seems to be just that. Not all of the countries participating in the tournament are peaceful countries however. The US, for example, has committed war crimes by attacking Iraq, torturing some POWs, etc. Should that country be allowed to send a team to the World Cup tournament? I think so. The team has nothing to do with its government's other international relations.

yes they should. you have no idea how much world cup means to the people and i mean all the country not some of those stupid ones that are in the head and are leaders ad say stupid things. more than half of the people do not believe and accept the current regime and the players are the Representatives of the people at first. besides there is no reason to mix sports with politics thats ridiculous. the Olympics situation was different they were Arabs. Iranians are not Arabs even if they have a stupid government. by the way Mexico sucked Iran played better that good and i think their loss was kind of a victory. THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED IN THE WORLD CUP.

You are an idiot.
For starters, Iran is not Palestine. They didn't elect the Hamas government, a declared terorrist organization by none other than the United States.
Secondly, the US should keep its nose out of places it doesn't belong.
Thirdly, the events that occurred in Munich, wasn't a big planned scheme by the country of Iran. It was done by Extremists not associated with any government organization.
I'm not even going to begin to argue this with you because clearly you still have a lot to learn.
Mind you, this question coming from a kid that's selling pokemon cards on eBay.

As I'm watching the match, I'm thinking the same thing! But I believe that maybe sports is supposed to be a way to help people momentarily forget the problems of the world and perhaps co-exist in healthy yet peaceful competition for a few hours or a few days/weeks. I think that maybe the thought is if people see the athletes getting along, then maybe we can see how silly it is to fight and create nuclear weapons and launch "terrorist attacks". I don't know I always like to think that music, art, and sports brings people together and punishing people from participating maybe is not the best solution (you can't blame the athletes for their crazy president and government). I don't want anyone judging me for what Bush does and says!

yes they should politics has no pace in sport.
one could ask should America be able to take place in sporting events also
the world cup is as it says the world cup with countries from all over the world taking part.
UN like s America has it world series in sports that only have American teams in them, Me thinks the Americans should call them the American series ,Iran has developed nuke power that's their they are recognized a terrorist nation by the U,S,A, the same U.S.A.that supported Saddam the same U.S.A that told the world of weapons of mass destruction .

Sports & Politics should never be put into one category. That would be like saying the winner of the world cup gets to make foreign policy for everyone else. Come on, lets just play some ball.

Terrorists have no nationality, they have no religion, they are just pure killers of humanity. Iranians have nationality, they have religion and the people out there respect soccer a lot so why not to allow them. They are like any other people, wat went wrong in Munich was due to less security for this the Iran team must not b penalised.
