you cannot get a false positive. the test checks for hcg which is only present during pregnancy. so if you got a positive, no matter how faint the line, then you are pregnant.

You are probably pregnant. Congratulation if you were trying. You could be getting faint lines because you aren't that far along and there is only little of the pregnancy chemical that the test requires in your system. To know for sure, you could try buying one of the pregnancy test that are specifically design to tell you sooner (they usually cost more money), or you could go to one of the facilities (try planned parenthood) that does free pregnancy testing, or you could just go see your doctor and have a professional test done. If all else fails, wait one week and just take a cheap pregnancy test (because by that time you might have more of the chemical in your urine) and see if you get a positive. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
P.S. I forgot to mention that it is common to get faint lines if you are pregnant with an ectopic pregnancy (If a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, it's called an ectopic pregnancy. One in 50 pregnancies ends this way.) This is a serious matter for more information, here is a link.

it sounds like you may be but go have it confirmed by a doctor. with my first pregnancy i was sure i was and took the test before i even missed my period it showed up but was real faint. and i was where you are today with the same questioned but there was no yahoo answers then so good luck if i had to bet i would say you are and your pregnant hormones haven't kicked in full force yet either go to the doctors or wait another week and then see what happens. i know the waiting sucks. good luck honey i hope it turns out the way you want it to

Any line, even faint is a positive in most tests to a 99.9% accuracy. Read your papers that came with the test and see what the accuracy level is. If you are newly pregnant your HCG levels may still be low and barely reading on the test. If you are unsure, go to the dr and have another urine or blood test.

When I was pregnant, mine showed lines almost immediately. I suppose if the pregnancy hormone in you wasn't very strong yet, you could get that faint positive. The most accurate time of day to take a pregnancy test is your first pee in the morning.

No matter how faint the line is, if its positive in various tests, then you're pregnant. It says so in the box. Call your doctor for a blood pregnancy test.

When I was pregnant, I took a test a the line was barely there. I think you are pregnant. Go get a second opinion at the doctor just to be sure.

Morning is the best time to take it. You can be preg. with a faint second line. I suggest going to the doc if you can. If not wait a couple days take another. Or wait for you period, see if it comes.

I was in the same boat as you and it mean't that I was pregant! It don't matter how long you wait even if the lines are faint! Make sure you see a doctor right away! Babies are a wonderful blessing and they make you laugh all the time!
