Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions.
--R.C. M.C. was the only person to give any kind of a sensible answer. Sig's was OK
--There are only 2 reasons why your bike will only run with the choke on. Either it's not getting enough fuel without it, or it's getting to much air and needs the choke to balance out the fuel air mixture.
--The most common problem is the carb is dirty. It'll have to be disassembled and cleaned. The pilot jet is for idle and up to 1/4 turn of the the throttle. If it is clogged, the choke will be needed to compensate for the lack of fuel.
--Another problem could be an air leak between the carb and engine.

When you choke an engine you are cutting off the air supply in increments making the fuel/air mixture richer (more fuel than air) If it runs with the choke on and not off you are getting too much air. You may need to adjust the fuel/air mixture to the correct balance. Always consult your shop manual for correct procedure. If this is out of your league take it to a professional mechanic and let him/her fix the problem. Then you can enjoy riding it again.
Good luck

Make sure you're intake boot between the carb and the head does'nt have a crack in it and that it's not loose. If you've been in there a zillion times you may have unintentionally cracked the boot. If you have no boot and the carb actually bolts to an intake make sure the gasket is good and you have a good seal. Good luck!!

Check your idoling valve. Play around with that for awhile. If the idol screw is to tight or to loose than as soon as you let go of the chuch or let off the choke than it will die.
When you have the choke pulled that over rides the idol valve and as soon as you let go of the choke than the idol valve takes control and if it is to tight or to loose than it will kill the engine. the valve is normally locate next to the gas shut off switch. Check your manual if you can not find it.

Its your engine. It needs to be cleaned out. Charge your battery for 2 days and clean out your engine. I had the same prob. I cleaned it out and vwalla. But that might not be the problem. Or maybe you need to bleed the engine? It may be your air filter.

Check the fuel filter, and I would change it anyway. If that doesn't help, you need to check the fuel pressure. Some Hondas don't run if they don't have enough fuel pressure.
