First half we dominated them but second half was typical Eriksson. Take off Owen for an overrated Middlesborough player. Then bringing on Hargreaves when everone was begging for Lennon to be given a chance.
But the most important thing in any sport is to win. I will take 1-0 with an own goal in every match if it means we win the World Cup.
It's not how well you play but the final result that matters. I'm sure Costa Rica would have rather won 1-0 playing crap than being praised for losing 4-2.

crap. they peform beter in friendly matches. if they keep playing like thet they will be knock out the fist round. ENGLAND is so lucky that they are in a crap group but if they are not careful they will lose against t&tobago. Their last match against paraguay, i think the ref cheated a lot, everytime a player from the other team fall without fouling them the reffff gives england yellow cards, but in in paraguay's case they always gets away with it. the team thats goin to win the cup is germany, porugal or mexico coz they perform well, better than england

Reading the papers today and the fans - you swear they were brilliant and won the world cup - they won because of an own goal and if that didnt happen it would been a draw. And using the excuse -the heat and the ref - bloody typical always blaming something/someone. They didnt deserve the win, they say they got the 3 points that's all that matters - only by OWN GOAL

Hey Mr.Davies wat do u think that players in International football make own goals for fun? That free kick was marvellous even if it hadnt been touched by the defender it would b a goal n everybdy knos that, I agree England should have scored more but u cant say that they did nothing at all.

not good. they won, but the performance sucked. only one goal, and that too, at the very start of the match! the match ended just as it had barely begun...no excitement, just a waste of 100 minutes.
take the match germany vs. c rica...now that was good stuff! u never knew which way the tables could turn and you got to see some fantastic goals too.

They were average and I echo c.j Davies above. Three points on the back of an own goal is nothing to cheer about.

Not very good. Will need to improve to reach the next stage. As an Irishman I should hope they get knocked out, but I am supporting them. Good luck.

England were alright, but could have done with another goal though.
