They do have speakers, they're called docking stations. You stick the ipod in and they connect directly to the speakers and the docking station. You still control everything directly from your ipod. Of course it's sold seperately because Steve Jobs is no fool. I think they might have some as cheap as $100. You can always play it on your computer, at least that won't cost you anything. Try going somewhere like bestbuy.com or even target.com or an apple or ipod website.

No you only can use earphones. You can buy an iHome which I got. You just put in your iPod and it will play out music with no earphones. iHomes tell the time, have an alarm and even have a remote if you're to lazy to sit up and chnage the song! You have to use the earphones to listen to the ipod itself. But there are plenty of accessories like speakers and av connectors and all kinds of stuff that you can purchase as well to play your music outloud.

They don't come with speakers, but you can either put speakers into the headphones jack, providing you have compatable speakers, or you can buy speakers with a cradle, either genuine I-Pod ones or other brands that are usually cheaper.

Yes, now they have speakers. What you do is you put your ipod into this slot and it connects to the speaker, and you can hear everything from speakers. it's pretty cool.

you have to buy speakers sepretaly. there is the apple made speakers and other speakers you could buy in other stores. you have to look around.
