t-shirt was named like that because it was shaped like letter "T". it doesn't have any other meaning. so don't get confused.

Never thought of that. Anyway i think is to stand for the shape. A T-shirt makes a T shape.

It doesn't stand for anything. It gets the name from the actual shirt part and when you lie it out, it makes the letter 'T' with the short sleeves
