What are other LAN file sharing options other than DC and direct windows filesharing?

Something that doesnt require a centralized server would be great.

If you run your own gnutella cache, and change all your clients to get addresses from that cache only, you can run a local gnutella network that nobody else can connect to. This is good for universities etc.

you could share the folders.. perfect click on the folder you opt to share.. you will see the sharing thoughts there.. then all people on your workgroup can look at community community and notice the folder and it rather is contents.
