I think this year is gonna prove to be a changing of the guard in the NFL. I think the Broncos may be poised for a playoff run. I also think the Bears returning defense and more experienced offenense could create problems for the nfc. The true sleepers however I would have to agree with most of the other posters and go with Arizona and Baltimore. Arizona is a little soft on defense but their offense will be exciting. Baltimore is set on defense and adding McNair with a healthy Jamal Lewis and they might be legitimate contenders. Not to mentio, McNairs familiarity with number one reeceiver Derrick Mason. Also, Miami. I dont know if people would be that suprised though. They finished last season on a tear and had a good offseason.

Gonna hear alot of people trying to say the Ravens. Sorry they are in too tough of a division. You are already looking at likely a best season split of the division of 3-3 or maybe 4-2. That is the BEST case. So they have 10 games to do go beyond that. Now add the NFC South to the picture. Ok say best case there they end up at about 6-4 so far. Add the AFC West. Maybe they get to 7-7 with that. They are lucky to break even at the end of the season if you ask me. They aren't doing it IF McNair stays healthy and has the job. I hate to think what happens IF he doesn't.
The Saints have Duece McCallister, so stop getting so drop the Reggiemania off the back people. They added Brees which at least gives them a good QB. I don't think they do good though.
I would say biggest surprise if you go by record improvements, not real surprise, is going to be the Cardinals. Thing is most expect them to be better so not really a surprise.

MOST of you dont watch football. Their is no way seattle will contend ...the last four years the team that lost the superbowl went 7-9 or worse, seattle only had a decent season last year because they were in a garbage division, with Arizona on the uprise and the rams not so far out of it seatlle will be 6-10. And their is no way MR. Miceal vick will have a MVP season, put him at running back and that could be a possibility, but not at qb he doesnt no how to throw the ball consistentley. Their are three mabye four that i will mention, teams that are flying under the radar that are going to have huge season...12-4 or better.
The #1 team is definatley the MIAMI DOLHPINS, they aquired daunte culpepper via trade. The dolphins are on a 6 game winning streak coming off of last season. They went 8-8 with a rookie back and no solid qb, with ronnie brown getting more experience he could be a 20+ carry 100+ Rb evey game. Not to mention The already spectacular chris chambers is also more experienced, he has a lot of potential, already a pro-bowler but consider this he was just picked in 2003, he has a lot of years left...prediction: 14-2 lose superbowl
The #2 team has to be ARIZONA CARDINALS-
the cardinals had an ok season last year i think going 7-9, but with the aquisition of edgerin james the cardinals offense will be un-stopable. The only thing keeping them from contending THIS YEAR is their defense if they can sign a few key free agents next offseason watch out for the cardinals. The cardinals have two of the best recievers in the nfl. They just drafted former usc star- Matt lienart who will most likely be the starter, not this year but next year. The Cardinals will address their d-fense untill then and be waiting to take the superbowl to AZ!...prediction 13-3 lose in divisional round.
The #3 team is the MINNESOTA VIKINGS.
Last year was one of their worst years in franchise, not statistically but they were picked by many to win the superbowl. In week 4-7, somewhere in their they lost their starting qb, that was the start of their season, their d-fense started meshing and improved alot. This offseason they added 5-6 more defenseive veterans to their squad, and also rookie CHAD GREENWAY, via the nfl draft. The vikings made some key aqusitions to their offense as well, with the signing of RB CHESTER TAYLOR who has alot of potential, vikings.com reports that Tavaris Jackson could be a star in the nfl. With the vikings defense, one of the pre-mear in the league, it will inspire the offense to do well...prediction: 12-4 lose in nfc championship.
HONORABLE MENTION-
Philadalphia Eagels, they were so injury plagued last year they almost had the coaches playing. With all the T.o. drama gone look for the eagle to hopefully soar back to their winning ways. That is all im putting due to my hands are about to fall off cuz i been typing so much.
BYE THE WAY THE VIKING ARE MY FAVORITE TEAM AND PEOPLE THAT LIKE THE FALCONS AND THE SEAHAWKS THAT SAY WELL WERE A CONTENDER SHOW SOME PROOF! YOUR JUST PEOPLE THAT GET SUCKERED INTO THINKING A LOSER TEAMS IS A CONTENDER...WHEN THEIR IS NO WAY THAT THEY STAND A CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, we know that Arizona will be good- this has been established since April- but the team that will surprise this year will be the New Orlean Saints. Big additions all over and a new coach should help them turn some heads.

Washington Redskins. maybe not a huge surprise because they were in the playoffs last year, but no one has them in the Super Bowl. They have a good defense and new offensive guru with some super speedy receivers. It could be 1991 all over again.
Yes, I am a Redskins fan. So what. So many people are saying the Cardinals are going to be the surprise team. If so many people say it, then is it really a surprise?

hte surprise team is gonna be the eagles. everyone is counting them out because of last year but with everyone healthy and no distraction (T.O.) they will be fighting for it again. And they had a great draft with a potential steal in Jason Avant. He quietly was a better overall receiver than Braylon Edwards when he was at Michigan. And he will become Mcnabb's security blanket that he missed last year with the injury to Chad Lewis. Watch out for the Gang Green defense too now that we have another proven pass rusher on the other side of the Freak it will make the corners that much better.

Namez...you are saying the Vikings have a better chance than the Seahawks...did u watch last season...in case you didn't, the Seahawks won the NFC...yea they lost the SB, but come on they are one of the best teams. And the Falcons have potential if they can get things going, but not with Carolina and Tampa and Saints in their division...Raiders will surprise people with their new talent and new staff....it is a tough division but they can handle it...namez is a dumbass

Seattle should be favored to win it all this year, but the Cowboys will give them problems in the playoffs. Cowboys will surprise in the NFC. I still don't have faith in Arizona as Green continues to coach like he did at Northwestern.
AFC: I like the Cleveland Browns. Their new coach has had a tremendous off season and they will make the playoffs this year. They are in the most competitive division too.

Raiders are not expected to be competitive in their own division, but watch. They will win 7 of 8 home games and I believe at least 2 on the road this year; 9-7 will get them to the playoffs!
