the type of fish depends on you some like damsels are quite colorful strong active and they grow slow that makes a good choice for the beginner there main draw back is they can be a bit aggressive especially the electric blue. if you like a fish that will become your real pet a snowflake moray eel is an excellent choice there friendly do not have fangs like there cousins can be hand fed there only draw back is they get out of the tank but if found before they dry up they will survive. PS the only "Bala shark i ever saw was fresh water ?

Some good tropical fish is the flame Angelfish its reddish fire color all over with a blue outer trimming on the tail and it will run you about $30-$36 dollars and then you have the Spanish Hogfish its entirely yellow and very purple on the top of it and that will run you about the same as the other one I first mentioned and then last but not least you have theShrimpgoby- aprt of the yellow watchmann famiy this one is completely yelow all over and runs very slim then most tropical fish which makes it very unique than most other tropical fish. But good look on you choosing those nice tropical fish for that nice fish tank of yours!!

I would stay away from wild caught fish taken from the ocean- Many fish populations on reefs are dying because of the pet trade.

But if you go to: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/

They have a large selection of fish, tells you how they caught, and the catalog is very cool.
