I was in ballet 4 8 years and i just quit cause i hated it do u people think that ballet sucks?

Absolutely not. I have danced competitively since i was 2 and a half years old. Ballet is my passion, my reason to live the life I do now. I am 16 years old, and in the fall I am going to dance professionally at the American Ballet Theatre in New York. I have worked so hard over the years, and it has really payed off. My college is completely paid for when I attend in 2 years and I have the chance to be a principal dancer in 3 great Ballet's next spring. So, to answer your question: no, ballet is not stupid. It may seem stupid to those who don't understand what ballet is all about. Everyone can have their own opinions. But for me, ballet is a way of life.

I have been dancing for eleven years and absolutely love it. I think it is beautiful watching other dancers. Some people may think it is boring and i have to admit i don't like seeing a bunch of old guys in tights either but i still love it. If you didnt like it than thats fine because ballets not for everyone. But i do think that ballet is underrated and misunderstood.

I've done ballet since i was 4 years old and i am now 18 and have just given up.
Trust me, i would not have stuck at it this long if i thought it was stupid, i just don't have the time anymore.
I did, however, go through a stage of hating it but my mother made me carry on and i'm glad she did.

No! I think that many people think that ballet is stupid because it is an excuse for being bad at it. Ballet can be very impressing and earn you much respect if it is done well. My guess is that people who call ballet stupid are really just covering up for the fact that they aren't good at it!

ballet is amazing...it not only builds physical strength but mental strength as well. it is beautiful to watch and personally i love ballet. it is not stupid in any way. i think you should start dancing again, if you danced for 8 years thats a lot of training you are wasting!!

I wish my mom would've made me do ballet, because when I see people doing ballet on TV or something, I get jealous because they look so elegant and graceful. So, no, I think its wonderful.
However, from a dancer's point of view, I wouldn't know if it sucked or not. I imagine it's hard on your feet.

Mira, Mira, Mira, Ballet is beautiful, anyone that thinks ballet sucks is an illiterate moron. Please do not be influenced by negativity that spills out of mouths with limited vocabularies. I strongly urge you to rejoin your ballet class, especially if it's something that you enjoy doing. To me there is nothing more pleasing to behold than watching attractive physically fit young ladies performing one of our most captivating forms of art that we so humbly call Ballet.

I LOVE BALLET, but i've danced for 12 years. if you didn't enjoy it or find it to be worth it, you made a great descision. did you enjoy any other type of dance? try staying with, believe me, everyone that leaves a studio after staying w. it for that long misses it, try jazz or lyrical or hip hop or something!

Because tights are like those little bikini bottoms men wear at the beach. They make us look stupid.

I take jazz, tap, hiphop and ballet and I like hiphop and jazz the best but everyone I know says I am natural for ballet. Ballet does suck, but if you are good at it, you might as well try to become a star at it.
