To me, as far as being needed, I guess we can look at other political systems and see if only one would be superior and therefore should govern things worldwide. Some might say democracy is that system.
To change a country from the monarchy (king and queen) political system to another would be difficult and usually political systems change because of war and is changed by whomever is in rulership.
Because everyone has different opinions, and because of all the things that could happen if we all tried to agree on what should stay and what should go, this is probably why government is so diverse and will always be.

Well the interesting thing about kings and queens is the nature of how they are chosen. Here in America we select our officials through the voting process usually sometime around Nov. 2. But kings and queens are selected by birth and then by birth order. The child who is born first in the royal family is the next king if itsa boy and if there are no boys the have a queen....I think.

Do we NEED the role of a king and queen in today's modern, civilized world? Of course not.
Nor do we need exorbitant taxes, gas prices, wars, hunger and starvation, measles outbreaks, drugs (both illegal and those designed for heretofore unknown ailments), poor education and so on, but we have them anyway.
Besides, isn't it good to be the king?

In West, there are Kings $ Queens and in the East, there are dictators who rule the countries. In the West ,the Kings and Queens have been shackled constitutionally and are mere nominal heads ,It is the military dictators ,who have no bounds and are destructive in nature.Something be done to get rid off these.

We are civilized but you can"t change other countries beliefs or their reign! I think it"s cool they still have Kings and Queens it"s so appealing and romantic! Wouldn"t you love to be a princess and be like royalty? Our President is ours , but kings and Queens are in a royal class of their own!!!IT"S like a fairytale.

This is not a simple question. In some societies royalty does not have power, but serve more as figure heads. Much like movie stars, they are glamorous and watched in that vein. In other societies, royalty is associated with absolute power and they use this power to maintain their positions; sometimes by popular support, other times by coercion.

Honestly it may work better. It would prevent civil wars, howeverthere could be rebellion. If you would like to persu this further i would suggest comparing the philosophies of Thomas Hobbes and John Locke.
