If lifeboats are unsinkable, why aren't all boats designed in the same way as lifeboats?

What are you saying, boats sink? No they don't, they float. If all boats are designed the same way lifeboats are designed, then the boat will be very unstable and can only hold so much weight.

Notareelco, Inc. do in fact make a full size ocean liner that is manufactured entirely out of lifeboats. This is the same company that make the "Cannycrash" aircraft that ejects people just before it hits the ground in the event of a crash. Since they are automatically thrown from the aircraft at a height of between five and ten feet, they can safely jump to the ground, according to a spokesman.

Lifeboats are not literally unsinkable, just very durable and they can up-right themselves when capsized.
A combination of cost and practicalities mean other vessels are not designed in this way. Passenger ferry/cruise ship companies have profit in mind as a number one. As long as their ships pass the safety inspections, they don't care.

Life boats are boats in ships to be used as a first aid box in case of accident. They are designed like ordinary boats for use only in emergencies and they do not have any engines and other sophisticated devices like the regular ship. They are aimed only to save the lives in danger for a temporary period. They are not an alternative or substitute for the ship or boat.
