You'll probably want to install an operating system like Windows XP, Linux, etc if it's a PC, or OS X if it's a Mac. If you have a full install disc you should be able to load it and the computer should be able to read it and walk you through the steps for formatting the hard drive and installation of the operating system.

first you got to have a start up floppy disk that contains fdisk, format, and system files. then you have to use fdisk to create the main partition. then format it. then copy the system files using the command sys c:. then install the os. good luck

check BIOS to see if the hard drive is visible and if so get an os setup disk and install it.

1st the hard drive needs to be partioned using fdisk.
2nd you need format it using format command.
3rd then install your operating system(s) eg Linux, or windows.
