He was just as evil, if not more so than Hitler and the Nazis. The the Truman Administration just gives The Soviet Union Eastern Europe after freeing in from Germany.

america has never shied away from having brutal dictators as allies, just so it served our foreign policy pupose.

The USA did not ask him. Hitler attacked the USSR. Stalin defeated him on the eastern front. They were fighting for their lives, pushed the Nazi's back to Berlin while the United Armed Forces were driving to Berlin from the west.

No one "gave " Stalin anything. When WW II ended, sectors were set up for all of the united countries armies. USSR ended up with what they got. The United Armed Forces were just happy to have survived Hitler's attempt to take over the world.

We had no choice since Germany was a mutual enemy. But Stalin was a cruel and evil dictator that caused millions of his own people to suffer.

He was just as bad if not worse than Hitler, but he was fighting on the same side as us so we can't just attack him or anything.
FDR tried hard to get Russia into the war, and even extended Lend-Lease to include Russia.

Yes he was evil, but unliked Hitler he was not trying to conquer the world.

yes it the saying goes that during war: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." So Germany was our enemy, Stalin his enemy,so Stalin is our friend. Not a great theory but it works in times of war.
