The trouble with aging (and, of course, the only other alternative is to die young) is that we can look back and see so many other choices we could have made. Perhaps we may believe we chose the wrong career (a common regret), or the wrong choice in marriage (often painfully changed through divorce), or any of hundreds of other regrets. When we are young, the whole world is our oyster, and we believe all good things await us. Time, fate, and events often prove otherwise for many of us. This condition is called LIFE.

I would have said no 4 months ago. I recently quit my dead end job. The plan was to move to a place where the cost of living was much better than where I am now. We've decided not to move, but to stay close to our friends and family and work out our financials with a business opportunity that we have considered for some time.

For the first time, in a long time, I've found myself excited. Excited at the possibilities. Excited about the new adventures. Excited just about the work itself. It really is something different to wake up in the morning and look forward to the day. This alone has made the difference in me.

I have always been someone who is comfortable with myself, my insecurities, and my strengths, but my work has always kept me down about myself. I guess it is the classic underachiever syndrome. Now, I can say that this is what I really wanted to be.

Hell yes. Who wants to be someone else?
Wait, did you mean career wise? Thats different. Everywhere you look on TV & magazines are glowing skin, skinny bodies and oddly perfect hair. Although its all fake and airbrushed, madeup professionally, etc... people dont stop and think that themselves. they believe thats the real thing and abuse themselves to try to look like the impossible. Thats y people have so many insecurities. Lemme tell ya: NOWHERE near real life. They get zits like us, cellulite ,stretch marks, bad skin,.... Ever look at the difference between the red carpet picture and the quick 'snap shots' of them by a pool or eating? All you have to do is be yourself. You cant change that. You will always in life have youself to look at everyday. Look in the mirror and dont focus on the bad flaws you have. Embrace the good ones. After all, flaws are what make us, well, normal & different from others..

I've always struggled between feelings of loving and hating my appearance. But when I look in the mirror, I see more than my own face. I see who I am. Who I'm becoming with each passing day. If I like myself, then I usually like my appearance. If I'm unhappy, if I dislike mySELF, for whatever reason, then no amount of makeup, no amount of change (in my looks), will make me like myself.

So, when you look in the mirror, ask yourself: am I the person I want to be? Am I ALL I could be?

Work towards your highest potential and learn to love yourself. Your looks will change over time, but you can keep making yourself better.

Life is to be lived!!!

No, but I'm working on it. It's not an easy thing to change who you see yourself. As long as you know you did the best you could so far, you'll have to accept that. "serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change what I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Is what I think about when I look in the mirror upon myself. I am working on what I know I can change... and gave up trying to change in ways I cannot.

Yes and no. This is not a black or white answer. I like my hair and face shape, but don't like the color of my eyes and nose. I think everyone has mixed feelings about their appearance. It is a normal thing, especially in adolescent years.

Yeah! coz we should be grateful to God whatever we are....we are not created by ourselves....so worrying & trying to change oneself is not a solution...But we can change our hearts, so I always pray thee, Oh God! that I may be beautiful within.
Thanks,
Sumiya.
