I would hardly compare Brittney Spears to Jessica Simpson or evern Christina Aguilera. Christina and Jessica have true singing voices where Brittney is simply an entertainer. She cannot sing to save her life. She reminds me of a cat in heat, but that is a whole other story.

JLo's career only really kickstarted when she did the movie Selena, so I'd have to say no, she wouldn't be as successful.

No, Jlo wouldnt have been as popular. Like others said she is a copy cat of Selena. Selena had her own line of clothes, so now J-lo does. Selena had her own perfume, so does Jlo now. I think J-lo thought if she did everything kind of like Selena, that She could replace her, I dont think so. Selena would kick her or any other tejano singer there is out there off the stage with her talent. They would not have a chance.

Yeah I do. Her career would have still launched, even with Selena in the picture.
She would still be successful and in the spotlight, just like she is in reality now.
I just don't think that she would be at the same status level as she is now. She would be good and successful, but maybe a notch lower.

JLO is a wanna be, and a has been. Selena had the pure sound of music and very beautiful at that.

of course, look how many brittanys and jessica's there are! just because they are both latino does not mean that there can't be more than one of them. the great thing about music is that you can choose selena or jlo or jessica or brittany

Yes, I think she would have...she's a talented singer, dancer and she's getting some acting parts that shows more of her talent... the new movie on rental now with Robert Redfort and Morgan Freeman was a good one!
Also, one of her earlier one's last year with Richard Gere was good.

Both are/(were) beautiful and has great assests. (aside from singing/dancing)
