For the first time in about six months last night i decided to go out on my own and have a few drinks..This is something i rarely do because of work and family..
The thing is, my partner made me feel as though i did something wrong when i know i didnt...I had made arrangements for my 12 yr old to be taken care of yesterday and today and also had a safe way home and place to stay if i needed it..
I rarely drink, yet on the other hand; my partner drinks alot...he brings home at least three bottles of whiskey a week plus beer...yet he says im the one with a drinking problem....
my questions is this, since i rarely go out and have all bases covered, knowing i did nothing wrong...should i feel bad for going out in the first place?

I will say this I don't believe in a marriage that one person should be going out to bars or wherever without the other, I disagree that even both going is wrong because usually it ends with some type of problem whether that night or in the long run. You did have all your bases covered but this is a marriage not single nights out. Single nights out are good I guess but they should be more geared toward bowling, ect . Call me a prude but if married don't try to do things without the other like drinking and such....

Drinking destroys familys and in many cases cause alot of marriage problems. I should know my husband and me have the same problems. My husband wants to drink everyday and when i want to relax and have fun he gets mad. I talked to him about this and hes says its because he sees me as a person that he doesnt like. I told him i see that in him all the time but i am so use to it that i dont realize in any change because he can handle is beer. I cannot on the other hand because i never drink so when i do it causes us to fight. if you are even second thoughts about this you should go . Good luck

no I would not feel bad you just wanted to go out and have some time to relax alone so what if you had a few drinks. As long as you are not going out and getting drunk all the time and doing things you regret then I think that it is fine.

Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Do not feel guilty, you SOUND a lot more responsible than your partner. Both of you should get over it and move on. It seems you two have alot of heavier issues to deal with.

The way I look at it you was being responsiable about it and what is fair for one is fair for the other. Another thing is it sounds to me like your partner is the one with the drinking problem and denil is the first sign.

um let me think..... no you shouldn't feel bad for going out an having a good time when your under stress. and your partner needs to get off your back. he was probably just mad because you weren't there to take care of all of the responsibilities. and he had to do some of them by him self. so don't worry bout it.

NO WAY HE HAS THE PROBLEM NOT YOU IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE BEING IN A CAGE AND LOCKED UP AND CANT GO NOWHERE THEN MAYBE U CAN TALK TO A FRIEND WHO HAS BEEN IN THE SAME SITUATION AS U AND SEE WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO GET AWAY BUT IN THE MEAN TIME KEEP UR COOL AND TRY TO TALK TO HIM ABOUT HOW U FEEL.

no you should not feel bad at all...you did the right thing which proves you are a responsible adult.... if he wants to mad, then too bad for him. Everyone needs a break and night out once in a while.

you shouldn't feel bad becuse if you rarely go out you should have time to you're self. there's nothing wrong with going out every once in a whlie like it sounds like you do then it's fine. you should get rid of all your stress and don't feel bad.
