She needs to be eating more protein because her blood is to thin if it isn't clotting.
Go to the doctor though if it continues.

The most common cause of nosebleed is mechanical trauma (i.e. picking your nose). The arteries in the nose are fairly fragile and are easily damaged. Beside trauma, there are two other likely causes. First, your mother might be suffering from some form of anemia called thrombocytopenia. Thrombocytopenia is a blood disorder in which there is a storage of platelets. Platelets are the cells responsible for clotting blood. To confirm or rule this out, your mother needs to have a blood test.
The other possibility is the use of medicatin. People who suffer from asthma oftentimes use inhalers to reliever their symptoms. The inhalers contain steriods, a medication that can weaken blood vessels. In addition, many intranasal medications for allergies also contain steriods. Another medication which causes thinning of the blood can also lead to nose bleeds aspirin. Aspirin taken infrequently is unlikely to cause thinning of the blood. However, chronic users (eg. people with arthritis) can definitely suffer from prolong bleeding.
My recommendation is to first rule out medicine as the cause. If your mother doesn't use any medication then you might suggest to her that at her next doctor visit to ask to have your blood tested.
If you mother does indeed suffer from anemia then her doctor will most likely prescribe her vitamins with iron pills. Your mother might try taking vitamins with iron pills first and see if it solves the problem and see her doctor if it doesn't work. She would have to take it for about a month to see any changes.

Pinch the bridge of the nose, where the bone is, is where the blood vessels are. Have her lean forward. Hold it for 10-15 minutes. If that won't do it, and it continues, the loss of blood may weaken her, you should call an ambulance. Or bring her somewhere where she can see a doctor asap.

i'm sorry to pay attention approximately your nostril bleeds. My husband suffers from them in some circumstances, and have faith it or no longer, right this is what we do. first and foremost, he blows his nostril, no longer no longer trouble-free, yet blows it so as that blood and clots will come out. Secondly, shop your head up, no longer tilted back - you do no longer choose to swallow any blood or choke on it - and final, yet no longer least, and that i be attentive to this might seem unusual, I carry the two 1 / 4 or an ice cube on the bridge of his nostril. This has continually labored - incredibly blowing your nostril - it is going to get rid of the clots that plenty swifter and help to stop the bleeding. wish this facilitates you too.

the vessels in her nose are very close to the surface and if she sneezes coughs or gets up too fast that can make one or more rupture. surgery can be done to stop this from happening but in the meantime get a cold compress and place behind her neck as she tilts her head backwards against the compress.ice can be used as well
