My dishwasher always seems to smell too. I*ve found that not all the water seems to drain out and gets stinky, so I*ve been pouring a cup of bleach in the bottom when I*m thru using it.
Of course I don*t use the dishwasher all the time so the longer the water stood the worse the smell. Try it, what have you got to lose except the bad smell?

Instant lemon-aid will do both, clean and leave a refreshing smell. Just add a scoop of instant lemon-aid mix where the soap goes and run a cycle.
If your dishwasher has buildup or dirt in it, using about 1 cup of Tang, fill your detergent dispenser with it & sprinkle the rest inside your dishwasher. Run a cycle as usual. Comes out looking much cleaner.

Every time I clean my coffeemaker with vinegar I dump the pot in the dishwasher. It also helps the hard water build spots on the glasses and cleans the dishwasher at the same time

Did you empty the food screen trap? Sometimes food particles stick in there and cause an odor. I keep a sprinkle of baking soda in mine at all times to absord any moisture. Also, with a dish towel, after a cycle has run you can prop open the door just a touch to let it air out real good. Good Luck

Pour white vinegar in bottom of the dishwasher and run the rinse cycle...this should help with the smell and will help kill germs at the same time

I would run it through empty with the dishwashing soap. I don't think I'd put bleach in, it may destroy the machine.

Vinegar.....Run the washer 2 to 3 times with vinegar and then used your regular dish soap once or twice, baking soda is good for smells also. If it don't go away you might need someone to come in and remove it.

run a little extra bleach through a few cycles, I think that would solve your problem. Try keeping the door open a little between uses to let it air out.
