the statue of limitations has very likely run out on this case. but if you really want to pursue it, your best resource is an attorney. nearly all lawyers have a free initial consultation, so schedule a few to find out several opinions on whether you have a valid case.

your wording doesn't suggest to me that you have a lot of emotional scarring; I am a 40-year-old survivor of molestation by a family member from the age of 9-11, and your language sounds very "legalese" not emotionally based. if you are just interested in suing the catholic church or something, then a lawyer is your best starting point.

otherwise, you need to accept that the past is over, and you were not responsible for whatever happened. if you are carrying emotional baggage from what happened then counseling is recommended. I believe that the best revenge is living well. so live your life with dignity and don't let anyone from the past, present, or in the future compromise your identity, values or dreams!

Well first of all it has been 32 years and I think you have waited too long if you were so upset about it then you should have pursued it when you were 20 there is no proof anymore.......The only thing I can say is the courts would say the same as me and laugh and u might not even get to court they probabley would just throw it out.....Trust me its not worth the emabrrasment I went through the inappropriate thing but I could not pursue it i did not know what was goin on I was too young......But if u want to pursue it that bad then I guess ask the poliece if the person could even get arrested.....Good Luck.....

I don't know where you're from but in NY you can't be prosecuted for crimes that happened 7 years or more ago. And like everyone has said move on it happened 32 years ago. The proof you'd need is a witness or photo.

All you need to know is that it happened and then work through it,, there are many of us that had this happen. The solution isn't as much about inflicting punishment as it is about you coming to grips with what happened and healing.
There is no way that I know of that you can 'prove" it happened, you can confront the person and hope they acknowledge that it did and apologize, but still that won't fix what is going on in you because of it.
It took counseling for me, short term, but that was the only way I would have ever gotten past it and opened up fully.

You need to let it go. After all that time life should have given you the ability to get over it. Life goes on and if you let that linger in your active memory then the mental anguish is far more damaging than what happened. More than likely the statute of limitations prevents any prosecution so get on with life.

Let it go. Find a good therapist to get you through this. After 32 years there is no point in dredging up old pain. Close the book, move on to a new one.

Why would you possibly need proof NOW!?! It happened 32 years ago, way in the past, and you need to let it go! Get past it.

Why are you making an issue of this 32 years later? Trying to make money with a lawsuit?
