There is no such book but something called "Bad Twin" is a spin-off book, but it's unclear if is it Cannon to the TV show...
Anyway to explain the finale, it's another cliffhanger like last season, we will find out more this fall, but we know now that the plane crashed when the magnetic force surged, when Desmond didn't push the button....Next year, we will see what happens to Walt, when his dad tries to find the way out on the boat. We'll also find out the fates of Locke, Eko & Desmond, yes they are still alive, plus we'll meet new characters and find out what's wrong with the rest of the world....

as i live in england i have not seen it, but i think the book is called the third policeman
