Square boxes are way easier to put together then a round box. Come on, you have seen some of the people working at pizza places! The square box, I think, is more time and cost effiecient!

Because pizza boxes come from the supplier unassembled, and must be folded into shape at the pizza shop. This is easier with a square box than a round box. Also, a pizza is easier to eat out of hand when sliced into wedges, whereas a square pizza does not lend itself to slicing easily into wedges.

Some chain restaurants such as Pizza Hut are making square pizzas now, however.

It is easier to put together a square box then a circle box. This is so they can be faster. Have you ever noticed when you go into a pizza place they already have some boxes made? It is because they can be faster

That way there is no room for the pizza to be smooshed (as it would in a circular box) nor would it have room to move that much. Plus sometimes other foods are out in them. It is also good for all sized pizzas.
