Hallie D,

Most likely nothing! Generally you are not considered to have a problem with fertility unless you have been trying for a year because normal couples can take that long to get pregnant. Note that in any one cycle, the most fertile couple have a 1 in 3 chance of pregnancy so you need to go on for a while sometimes. I know a couple who had nothing wrong with them but had their first child after 4 years of trying. 2 months is definitely too short and 6 months is not the end of the world if you are normal.
Things that can affect fertilty include diseases such as polycystic ovary syndrome - (you tend to be a very hairy female if you have this) problems with egg production/release (Ovulation), low or abnormal sperm production by the male partner, hormonal problems, problems with the uterus such as fibroids or abnormal structure. There are many more causes but your doctors should be able to help.

It also helps to know which days you are most likely to conceivee. This depends on the length of your cycle etc but I have found a website to save you the calculation. It may be worthwhile recalculating every month than just taking all the dates they give you though. It will also help if your partner abstains from sex a few days before the fertile periods indicated to boost his sperm count.

Some other thinks that can impair fertility are drugs so if you are on regular medication for anything, see your doctor and check. Alcohol, drugs and ssmoking lower sperm counts and fertility so if they are your habits, well, you know hwat to do.

Finally, you haven't tried for long enough to establish there is a problem, so don't worry. Too much anxiety and stress can also affect your fertility. Some women stop having their periods under stress!

All the best and good luck. I hope to hear one day that your cute little baby has finally arrived in his/her own time.

well you didn't say whether you only have 1 partner but there is always a possibility the problem is with the man. Low sperm count whatever. You can also try putting a pillow under your hiney and lie in bed for awhile after sex. Don't know if there's anything to it, but I've always heard that.

If at this point, after planning according to your period, and trying different positions you havent gotten pregnant, you BOTH need to see a doctor. You could have a problem from endometriosys (god forbids) to a low sperm count.
