always thought once a child turned 18, the parents were no longer responsible for thier actions, but was told they are considered emanicpated adults until they turn 21, and the parents can still be held accountable for thier actions and be sued by something an adult child under the age of 21 does.

That depends on the State you live in. Believe it or not some States you can marry at 13yrs of age,yes united states. Again it depends on the State you live in, the laws are different in every State. At 18 where i am yes 18 is a adult and in court is given adult verdicts. No you cant buy alcohol but at 18 with a I.D. you can buy cigarettes. Look up your laws on the Internet in your state. That's where you will find the correct answer. Take care.

That all depends on where you live. I live in Indiana and as long as they are in school you are held accountable for their actions. I suggest you call the family courts and ask them, they will tell you what they law is in your state.

I'm not sure but I think that's not true. Once 18, they're an adult, able to vote and go to "big boy" jail.
