I think the founding fathers are rolling over in their graves about what both parties are doing to this country. Politicians are all for themselves and they want you to pay for it! They SUCK

I'm a registered Republican, but frankly, I'm rather disgusted with both parties.
I'm an economic conservative, meaning that I believe that government should be spending less money and taxing us less whenever possible. The Democrats have a proven track record of being in favor of higher taxes and greater spending, which results in less economic freedom - if you doubt that, take a look at the last 40 years that they controlled the House, from 1954-1994, not to mention the New Deal before that. Note that according to the Constitution, all revenue (tax) bills must originate in the House, and Democratic Congresses have never shown a reluctance to increase taxes or spending.
Having said that, I had high hopes when the Republicans took over both houses of Congress after the 1994 election, but I've been very disappointed with the results. They have pushed half the economic conservative agenda (lower taxes), but they haven't reduced spending to go with it, which has only resulted in a skyrocketing deficit. Some of that can be chalked up to 9/11 and the measures that had to be taken after that, but much of it is just wasteful. And I haven't even mentioned the corruption re Abramoff and other lobbyists. These guys were going to be different, or so they told us.
To sum up: The Democrats will never cut government spending and give us more economic freedom. The Republicans have had a chance to do so, and they choose not to. If neither major party will do it, who will?
P.S. The Democrats are only for the working man if he happens to work for the government. I don't, and they haven't done squat for me except raise my tax bill.

Actually you have made an assessment the democrats want you to make. The Republicans believe that everyone should have a great opportunity in this country (US). They hope by reducing the barriers that often protect the little guy that the same little guy can develop into a more successful person. And most importantly they believe the individual is responsible for their plight not society.

I fail to understand the premise of your comments following the question. "Republicans aren't for the working man only for them selves", who do you think they are? Bulletin, working men and women, they are not all wealthy anymore than all democrats are middle class or poor. Do you feel the government owes you a living, health care, food and shelter? Or do you believe in person responsibility? I have read all to many comments by liberals on Yahoo that make no sense at all, they want freedom, but don't have a clue the cost of freedom, they want to do what they want with no interference from the government and yet they want the government to play nanny to them. You can't have it both ways. Not all Republicans were born with a silver spoon in their mouths, or are oil barons, we work and struggle just like everyone else. Before you act as if all Republicans are wealthy and didn't work for it. ask yourself this: What about Ted Kennedy and John Kerry? One was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and the other keeps pulling at the silver spoon in someone elses mouth. You might want to re-think you premise.

It is funny to me that you get these answers from repuglicans that say that they are for smaller government and lower taxes. I wonder how they spent their $20 that Bush give them, while running up the national debt. It is amazing to me that these people are still in the gene pool with the thought that repuglicans stand for smaller government when there has been the biggest expansion of government ever during this administration, and the largest reduction came at the hands of the Clinton administration.

Funny how you "democrates" aren't even smart enough to spell the name of the party you support.
The "Republicanes" or "Independentes" wouldn't have you so you better stay where you are.

Who the hell cares? Why don't you just vote for the guy that has the best answers?
I don't understand why people see at as a sort of club! Some even vote based on politcal party and not the ideas that each individual cantidate represents!

Democrats WERE for the working man, not they are for themselves, as are Republicans. I have little use for, or faith in, either. The only one standing for the working man is the working man, and his voice is seldom heard over the right-wing/left-wing screaming.
I'm assuming you're talking about politicians and parties, not the "little people" who vote for them.

Republicans are for the large corporations and the extremely wealthy....that is why it matters not who you are for but can your canidate still have a chance in a world where lobbiest grant money for a politician to get him elected and then recieves a kick backin the form of Corporate welfare..........The Politicians are for sale to the highest bidder and we have no lobby to bid....We will never see campaign reform because it keeps politicians in there cushy jobs while they sell our freedoms down the river to whoever keeps them in office.
