Assume that the person cheating will get caught.

I know neither one is good. I was just curious what people would say if they HAD to pick one or the other.

now that i know what it feels like to be cheated on, in the future i would prefer it if i did the cheating at least to show him what he's put me through

I know it's not an option, but I am going to go with the majority on this one and say neither as my FIRST choice. If I had to choose one or the other I would say having my significant other cheat on me. I've never stepped out on anyone and don't plan on starting.

Neither one is a good thing. They both hurt when the truth comes out if someone is cheating

If you have to choose one of the least, then I suppose I would rather be cheated on than be the cheater.
Being the cheater eats you up inside and although the other hurts terribly, I would rather not be the one that caused that pain and had to endure the guilt.

Neither because either way it would ruin the relationship.

good question!

I'd be the cheatee, not the cheater.

At the end of the day, your integrity is all that matters.
