All open cultures try to learn some things from other cultures. No culture will ever become exactly like another culture. We all just select those parts of different cultures that we appreciate, and we also learn to reject those parts of the other cultures that we don't like. Perhaps there are parts of American culture you now see in India, but it is only because people see value in them. There are also aspects of Indian culture that we have seen in America for many years now. It's no big deal.

But, you're right to think about it. Just make choices about each part of the culture. Don't think about the culture as a whole and reject it all. Select the parts that are worthwhile for you.

are you malaysian? this is what is happening in malaysia. malaysian espacially the youngsters adore outsiders cultures and trends more than their own. in music, dressing in fact most of their lives are more to their cultures than ours. but i don't blame just the youth only. honestly, i believe that there are certain things that we are lacking and there are certain things that they don't have. for example, we malaysian have our own traditional musics that we should be proud of. on the other hand, our nowadays music is not that good.it is not interesting enough to attrack the youth to fall in love with our own local product it is lacking of personality and quality. so are the rest of our local products. i really think that malaysia is actually lack of experience and knowledge and also idea.i'd suggest that malaysia could go to the outside world and learn as much as they can and bring home the precious knowledge to be use for their own country. it does not mean to just copy what they have learned but to manipulate the knowledge and adapt it to our culture and life.what do you think?
