Difficult to pick 1 player, but have to chose David Beckham because of the goal. There was a few nervy moments since England didn't dominate in the air, in defence or in attack. The heat had a lot to do with this. At the end of the day England won and Sweden could only draw. This puts England in pole position for the last 16. C'mon ENGLAND..!!!

Its a draw between david beckham and Lampard
Beckham because of the fantastic free kick, it was so on point to the goal area, plus he seemed to have it together more than his whole team in the whole game
Lampard because of the great shots he made, the goalkeeper for paraguay was good but Lampard's shots were fast and powerful.

I'd have to say Beckham as he was responsible for the only goal, even though it was an own goal. Outside that, I would say Couch. He was everywhere and, at 6'7", he's quite intimidating.
