If u want to be a premiership footballer you'd better be really good. You need to contact the club or go to the stadium if you want them to know you exist. But if you can't put a ballIin the upper half of the net from just outside the 18 yard box, don't waste their time.Overall just work on your game everyday and make sure u know all the tricks needed to help the team win.

Dave Kitson who plays for Reading was never signed by a club as a youngster and stopped playing from the age of 17 to 20 while working as a shelf stacker in a supermarket. He then joined a pub team and played in defence for 18 months before signing for non-league Arlesy Town. He was then spotted by Milwall who offered him a contract, which fell through, and eventually went to Cambridge UTD as a striker.
In the 2003/4 season Steve Coppell signed him for Reading where he became one of the top strikers in the Championship in 2005/6. Next season he'll be playing for the mighty Reading FC in their first ever season in the Premiership. So the moral of the story is Dave Kitson is a genius........... oh, and you can always make it if you're good enough and work your testicles off.

You want my honest view. It is kind of late in my view - I mean look at the top footballers of today (you have to look at them if you want to be the best) They was playing from like 4-5 years old and playing in league and getting taken by teams. Cristiano Ronaldo born on the Island of Madeira far from the biggest club in Portugal Sporting he played as a kid and was getting seen. When you play football as a boy like 5 years old throughout the ranks your not thinking of money cos you play cos of the fun and joy as a kid but now at 17 people want to be a footballer cos of the potential £20,000+ a week salary which is all good but you have not got the same magic as the one that been doing it as a kid. Better of training to become a UFC fighter or a Boxer and bring a WBC or WBA title back to Britain cos we need more British fighters!

All the major teams have scouts, you'll need to be playing for a pretty good team though in a decent league. Your club will tell you about any scouts that may be about. If you impress them then you may be offered a trial. Basically it's all up to you. Ian Wright was 21 before he moved to the top flight.

You would need to contact a club telling them what your looking for or if you play for a local club get the manager to write to one and they will send a scout to look at you and if they think your good enough will arrange a trial for you.
