Bruises?
If there is nothing broken or detached, Dinshah Color MedicineTM, color Indigo for bruises, has worked miracles for me and others!

Example
A woman fell at night in a walled hole. She hurt her legs so badly that she could hardly drag herself to her near home. She felt that she would not be able to sleep, for the pain was so bad. She finally got herself to apply Dinshah Color MedicineTM, color Indigo for bruises, and soon thereafter fell asleep! The next day the swelling was mild.

The color application may be repeated until all signs are gone.

The different colors give off different frequencies that entrain our off frequencies of our life energy. The Dinshah colors are made to match our healthy life energy, that's why they are so powerful, although very gentle.

Hospitals use blue light to keep endangered infants alive. Wait until they discover the other Dinshah colors and what miracles they can do! The system has been developed in this country to perfection and was in use in US hospitals with great success. Yet it is so simple to apply that it can be used at home.

Dinshah Color MedicineTM is applied with color gels (info at http://www.biochakra.com) and a reading lamp. The colored light shines on the hurt area, and the pain goes down often in a few minutes. The bruises heal much faster, may be in a third of a time than without color application.

Worth a try? Only seeing is believing for us of us! Those who never try will never know, or they keep believing that colors could not work, missing out on a great home remedy for many life energy needs!

Also Hypericum Perforatum may relieve pain quickly. I would take 4 pills (on milk sugar basis) in a one ounce dropper bottle, add water, and take a few drops under my tongue ever few seconds, until the pan goes down. Then less and less often, e.g. every 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20, 30, 40, 60 etc., but at least 5 times a day for some time to keep up the healing energy.

Both means can be used together.

Happy healing, and fast!

Ibuprofen-which can be bought over the counter is a great inflammatory and also for pain- recommend the 200mg and can safely take up to 600mg daily. Ibuprofen-unlike Tylenol etc is not so harmful to kidneys and liver and well tolerated by the stomach.
Since your father is 60 and bones aren't quite as strong anymore advise that you get an X-Ray taken to make sure no hairline fractures(small breaks)or any ligament or muscle tears
which if left untreated will take a very long time to heal, painful and may develop into something serious. If his family doctor does not have X_Ray in his office then go to a Emergency Medical Clinic-they have X-rays; lab etc on the premises and cheaper than Emergency at a hospital. Can also take some extra Vitamin C up to 1000mg every sev. hours for sev. days for will speed up healing. Hope it'll turn out OK for your dad.

It's not a cure, but your dad should try a bag of frozen peas rather than an ice pack. The peas conform to the knee, and he won't feel any additional pain from the pressure of a hard ice pack. In addition, he should take Advil or Aleve to reduce some of the pain. And how about a doctor?? I hope your dad feels better soon.

Make sure you keep it elevated. Dont let it stay in one spot because it will get stiff. Have him take Ibprofen or Advil instead of Tylenol because those reduce the swelling. Put an ice pack on every couple of hours like you are doing but try putting a heating pad on for a couple of hours at night to get the blood circulation better. Try doing so exercises with the leg too. Its important you keep the legs strength and build up muscles in the knee. I hope he feels better

Try alternate heat and ice. The thing that stopped my knee from hurting after an injury was going to my local river and for some reason the running water took the pain away completly. Good luck, you have a very lucky dad.

I suggest getting Una d Gato or cats claw at a health food store. It is an herb that is an ant-inflammatory (for pain) and repairs cartilage. I personally use this herb and my knee, hip and back have greatly improved. I also used mega does when I broke my ankle, doctor was amazed that I didn't use pain pills and it healed fast with out needing physical therapy. There are no side effects and does not bother your stomach.

R.I.C.E.....rest, ice, compress and ELEVATE.

never, never, never put heat on any part of your body that is inflammed or swollen or hot. If the injury is in the acute stage, always apply ice or cold towels.

Whenever your injury is in the acute stage (Pain, heat, swelling, throbbing) stage exercising or applying any kind of resistive force is not recommended. Wait for the late sub-acute stage to apply any kind of heat.

A trip to the hospital may be a good idea if you suspect a torn ligament or a meniscal tear. The knee is very complicated and there is a lot going on in there. Good luck.

PS... try arnica montana for pain and bruising. It is safe and natural.

Check for any fracture. Apply pain relieving gel and after that take equal quantity of Bishop weed and cooking salt and tie up in a cloth. Give heat fomentation with this mixture for relief. Since he is aged, his pain will take little more time to subside. You can also apply turmeric paste on his knee.

alternate the ice packs with a heating pad....20 minutes of ice (frozen vegetables work well for this), 20 minutes of heat.

keep it elevated above the level of his heart as that will keep the throbbing to a minimum.

keep it immobilized with some sort of brace

Take him to the doctor as soon as possible to check for torn ligaments, etc.
