i restarted my xp home edition and it just shut it self down and restarts up agian...?

with out even starting to load windows!!! Help me please!!! What happended how can I help this??

try to go into the cmos and boot from the disk, you need to try to get virus/worm protection because it sounds like the w32 ircbot worm...i had the same problem and had to completely reinstall everything...good luck, i hope you can get it fixed

There are a lot of reasons for this.

First off, start the computer in safe mode, if you can do this, then it may be that your computer is reacting from a program that you may have just installed. If not...

Then, check your power supply, it might be failing or not supplying enough power if you just put in some new hardware, like RAM or a more powerful Video Card. To trouble shoot this, if you added more things, take out the new piece of hardware and try booting up again, if it works, then it was that piece of hardware. Read the specs and requirements for that piece of hardware, for example: most video cards will tell you that they require a power supply of about 450W or more in your system.

Secondly, if it's not your powersupply, then check if any thing else is misplaced, like RAM, cpu, heatsink and cpu. Why I say this, is this happped to me once and I checked the power supply first, after a bunch of research, I found that my heatsink on top of my cpu was off a bit. This caused the auto shutdown feature in my P4 to kick in, thus shutting down the PC.

If it's not that, then it might be your mother board.

Try starting the PC in safe mode depending on a PC its either pressing F6 or F8 when you press the power button, after that uninstall all the latest programs or drivers, I had the same problem when i installed ATI tools, with integrated graphics.

Sounds like a virus. Try booting into safe mode (tap the F8 key before the welcome screen appears). Hopefully, you have some anti-virus and anti-spy software on your system. If you do, scan in safe mode and remove what they find. If not, find another machine, download AVG free anti virus and some anti spys like Adaware, Spybot S & D and Ewido Security Suite trial version and burn them on a disk. Then, run them from the disk on the sick machine.
