Yea! That's a great idea.
heres a recipe i always use for smoothies, its really good.
2 cups strawberries
1 cup chopped watermelon
Juice of 2 freshly squeezed oranges
Juice of 1 freshly squeezed lime
½ cup ruby red grapefruit juice
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Cover and chill. Before serving, shake or stir, then pour into chilled glasses.
Serve them with 2 cherries on a toothpick, and little umbrellas. I made this exact same smoothie at a party i had once, and every body loved them. If you don't have a juicer, it would probably taste the same if you bought those little plastic lemons and limes at the store with the lemon and lime juice in them, and bought some freshly squeezed orange juice (not from concentrate).
Have a good party :)

Yea, I've had virgin and alchol drinks at my partys. I'm just started high School too. If you trust your sons decisions, you should let him. If your not sure how things will go, tell him, you buy the drinks and try to compromise.

What, like virgin margeritas? Sure! He can order them at a resturaunt, why not make them at home? (We are talking about a highschool graduation, right?) Besides if he is 17 or 18 he has probably already had the real thing, and so have all of his friends, you should be happy he is not begging for alcohol at his party :)

I would say yes but be sure none of his friends bring a few bottles with them. If alcohol becomes involved and a car accident were to happen then you would be liable. I would definitely casually monitor the party as today teens manage to find a way to get their hands on just about anything. Pot, date rape drugs etc. But if it is kept clean and the party is with a bunch of good kids a few imitation fruit drinks wouldn't hurt.

If you trust him to not spike the drinks once they are made, then sure! Virgin drinks with the umbrellas and cherries and fruit slices make them feel all grown up and it's nothing but fruit and umbrellas to you. You could serve some different ones, like pina colodas, or whiskey sours (without whiskey, of course! LOL) or for the more sophisticated among your guests you could have bloody marys made with tomato or v8 with celery.Have plenty of peanuts and popcorn or pretzels to snack on and they will have the time of their lives!!

For those of you who don't know, "virgin" means non-alcoholic. I see nothing wrong with it, but you should keep on an eye his friends who may try to sneak alcohol into the party and add them to the virgin drinks.
PS The big thing this year are rootbeer kegs!

What is wrong with virgin drinks? they are not alcholic and are fun to make- they are also better then plain old 7up and coke. My dad owns a club and may have loads of recipes for some..... one sec- let me ask him for them.

Why does he want to serve the virgins drinks? Can't the others get hammered too?

Yes....this is appropriate as long as there is no alcohol...even my kids like virgin strawberry daquries....this should be perfectly acceptable and to make it a positive experience for them...use it as an opportunity to explain the dangers of alcohol!

Absolutely, get fun straws and little umbrellas some funky plastic cups with fruit and olives. It's fun and harmless. But if you catch any kids with alcohol make them pour it out and phone their parents to come and get them ASAP.
