My computer will be running fine, then for no reason it will restart.
I can almost count on the computer restarting the first time after first 5 min. or so.
If I get a registry repair program, will that help the restarting problem?

it might, it could also be a heat problem, make sure all the fans inside are clean and running

I presume you're running XP

If you right click 'My Computer' and choose 'Properties'... go to the 'Advanced' tab, and then the 'Start up and recovery' section you can change its behaviour to NOT restart.... this will not stop the error, but it will show the 'Blue Screen Of Death' which will give you an error code. You can check it against Microsofts database at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/ee_advanced.aspx for details about the error.

I'd suggest its due to over heating though, not a registry problem, but a sudden crash can cause registry errors, so by all means run a checker across it.

my comp is on 24/7... (no fans except for vid card and cpu hehe, mine got too dirty and wont run anymore)
i only got an overheat once and it said something about overheating in the dos part of your computer bootup

try checking for lose connections first
if not...and it is just recent...maybe a virus or whatever...
try using the windows system restore (if you are using windows)
restore it 1 day before it happend...if you can't remember it...sorry but i can't help any further unless you are willing to perhaps change some of your hardware or technician :)...note though...make sure those are capable technicians not just those having the name technician because they fix your stuff BY THE BOOK.....
