go to ur yahoo messanger and click on your display picture...it will show u some options..one of them will be customise my yahoo avtar.click it and it will take u to ur avatar page to modify ur avatar.dont forget to save the changes as soon as u r done:)

open ur mail and click on the avatar on your main page click on your avatar .make a new avatar and click on change avatar !

click on the avatar on ur messenger. then make the changes u want & click change.

just login in mail and in left side like a photo space that u have to click and make ur avtar as u want with many options.

i just changed mine.............all u have 2 do is type avatar in search in yahoo.click the correct entrant and change away.......!!!!

yea i had that trouble before anway... here's how i did....
> signed in yahoo > checked Mail
> there showed Welcome Adarsh and Blank Picture.... and i saw click here to create your own avtar and i followed that link...
do it it's quick easy but requires macromedia Flash to run....

clk on your name-> then edit info then-> avatar
