I NEED to find out how to change the "Administrator" of my brand new PC-(as well as the "Master account" in the e-mail-"my account" section)-My family had a PC that was "not-repairable"; Keeping that in mind, I went and bought a PC for myself a few days ago as I will be moving out "soon" , so my family is going to replace their "non-repairable" in few months time-they're in no rush to do so right now.-Which brings my point:On my new PC, my family I do NOT want anyone else in the household to be the "Administrator" of my PC (long-useless story to my question!), or "Master-Account" in ANY part of my PC-(there were too many pointless problems from having a "1" person as "Administrator" of our old PC)-So, I've got my own & hooked up to our router that we used for the old PC which is why the "Administrator" comes up with the old PC's "Admin./name" -PLEASE can somebody tell me how to make the necessary "changes", so I can be the only one with "full-access" to my own PC?

Sure. I can understand why you would not want your kids to have admin access. It prevents a lot of nasty programs from getting installed.

The first thing is to give yourself a password- if you have a password, the kids can't use your account. Go to Control Panel-> User Accounts. Select your account Click "Add a Password". Type one and hit OK. Remember it! I believe

Now, create all the different accounts on the PC. Make sure that after creating each account, select it and go to "Change Account Type". If it is already a limited account, you can skip this step.

With these changes, you should be the only administrator on the com[uter.

Hope this helps!
