Not necessarily...are you sure she is taking it. Wait another few days and if no period, get a pregnancy test. If anything, to ease you minds.

Late compared to *what*? She has no way of knowing what her cycles will be like, since she hasn't had one in months or years! When on the Pill (or other hormonal birth conrol), she didn't have any cycles or periods (technically, the bleeding is "withdrawal bleeding"--looks the same from the outside, but very different from the perspective of what is happening with her body). She should be able to explain this to you if her doctor gave her complete information before writing the prescription *every* time he renewed it!

Women typically have menstrual cycles of length 24-40 days. But until she has at least *one* full cycle, she can't even know what is normal for her now. And, even then, it can take months (up to a full year) to be back to normal for her...or she may be permanently infertile from use of hormonal birth control.

In the meantime, if you don't want a baby, choose another method of birth control.

Well it really depends on a few things:

First...did she start the pill the Sunday after her last period? Or did she start at a random time? If she started at a random time then her period definetly will not come until she gets to the "placebo" pills in her pack, or depending on the type she is taking, she may have a week off. When I took birth control, my period didn't usually start until about 4 days into the placebo pills or week off. Also, did you guys wait 7 days of her being on the pill to be sexually active without protection? Because it takes that long to be effective.

That really shouldn't happen. The pill regulates the period for most women down to the hour that they start their period. Being that it was a new thing, are you sure she took them correctly and everyday?

Give in a week, if no period - get a pregnancy test...

Now that is a hilarious question. I think you might be able to answer that yourself, if you know what activities you have been taking part in over the past five weeks. Ya don't need yahoo answers for that one, buddy.

Yes, it could be that going off the pill messed up her system, or it could mean that she is pregnant. Go buy a pregnancy test.

And you are asking if she's pregnant?
Or her system is just messed up since she took off the pill.
She could be, better yet buy her a HPT just to be sure.
But make sure you wait 2 weeks tops before using HPT, she could be just delayed.
