YES!!!! And you'd think I would know better, because my day job is, I am a counselor!!!

I started Y A when things were not going well in my relationship...I guess it helps to spend time thinking about oter people's problems, it helps me to put my own on hold.

I think this is a brilliant question - you have got so many answers!!! IT has obvioulsy touched a nerve.

Yep, I am signing off now to go and look at what's going on right here.....

Sure!
At home I'm too close to the problem and get stuck on the emotional aspect of the situation. It's easy to take things personally rather than remember that some problems with others have nothing to do with you at all.
It's good that you asked. It reminds me of a good resource. A book called, "The Four Agreements". I need to revisit it! It's a great read for anyone.

Yeah, it puts your own problems in perspective. When someone posts "I've just found out that my dad is my sister and my heads about to fall off" your bad day at work gets put in the shade a bit.

Plus its always nice to try and make someone smile and perhaps offer a bit of good advice from time to time.

Got to go now, the bailiffs are knocking on my door; I might not be posting for a while!

yes, sometimes.

But since some of my answers have been chosen as "best answer", I think I may be helping someone. At least, I hope so. I'm NOT doing it for the points. I'm still at level 3 (1581 points), and I have been here for five months!!

More often than not. It makes me feel good if I can help someone. I also get great comedic release from reading and answering some of the questions. It's entertainment, and I am easily amused.

BTW, thanks for reminding me that I have a truckload of crap to do today, and I shouldn't be here. :-)

You mean that you are at work, or somewhere away from home!
Knowing that too many problems awaits you at home, is not a solution, you must go home first.
Reverse the question.
