First, keep notes on when you get your period. Get yourself a calendar or a good ovulation chart.

Purchase the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". It will give you some great info on the signs your body gives off when you are fertile. Cervix softness, cervical mucus, body temp.

Live healthy. Start taking a good prenatal vitamin. Your doctor may have one he prefers his patients taking. Ask your ob/gyn

You can purchase ovulation prediction tests too. Those will help you narrow down your two MOST fertile days of the month. However you generally have 3 or 4 days where you are very fertile.

Good luck to you!

usually a womans cycle is 28 days. day 1 of your cycle is the first day of your period. in a 28 day cycle you are most fertile on days 12 13 14 so count forward and grab your guy on those days. however if you have a longer cycle 31 0r 35 days then you ovulate later like days 15 16 17.

Read the book _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler. It explains everything in plenty of detail--much more than I could possibly give you in a few paragraphs!

In the meantime... Skip the ovulation Web sites. They give you an *average* of when you *could* be ovulating. That is really not very helpful. And there are other problems with ovulation predictor kits. They tell you when your body is *preparing* to ovulate, but don't actually detect ovulation. Some women have a surge of luteinizing hormone (LH, the hormone detected by ovulation predictor kits), then don't ovulate, then have a second surge followed by ovulation. The kits *won't* be accurate in cases like this, but charting as described in the book will.
