What happens when a lava lamp stays on too long, and can it stay on all night?

I dont really know, but the lava lamps that i have seen get really hot after some time of being on, so if i were is turn it off just to be safe.

It;'s definitely safer to unplug the lamp and turn the master elcetricity switch off!

wat up baby, i heard lava lamps can explode and spray hot lava and oil all over your face when u least expect it, and glass!! no sh*t! but theres always a chance the sun could explode too.
