Is it worth it? Only you can decide. Some deals are good, some not so good. It's like asking who has the better deal: WalMart or KMart. You gotta do your homework and comparison shop if you're buying something. Sometimes the delay in shipping is worth it if you get a real good price. Some people offer items at a low price but scam on shipping charges. Be a savvy shopper!

As far as selling, same concept. If nobody is interested in what you're selling, you ain't gonna make any money! If there's a bunch of people selling the same item, you gotta see the competition's asking price / high bid and price your items accordingly.

There are eBay drop-off stores appearing here and there. Some of these stores don't last long.

But here is how these seem to work.

If you have an item that you want to sell at eBay that is worth more than $75, they will try to sell it for you. As I understand, they charge you a small fee, but also get about 25% of the sale. (maybe more).

One problem with eBay, is that they charge just for POSTING your item.

Here are TWO auctions that do not charge a fee for posting.

sometimes i can get goods that arent available other places, ebay is a great place to check out neat stuff . .

if you want to sell, dont sell junk . . junk wont sell on ebay just like it wont sell at a yard sale and you have to pay a little to list it . ..

if you can get a product from the wholesaler or whereever - thats a good deal compared with a retail price, you can make a ton of money . . i buy all my cell phone do-dads there for instance, $9 for a car charger and a case, that the kids at the cell phone store are trying to sell me for $29.99 each . . .

ebay is great! just dont get caught up in buying collectibles!

I know a few people who are happy users of ebay, as sellers and buyers.
However, if you want to sell books, the Amazon Marketplace is supposed to be even better.

Depends what you buy. I've bought many things... sometimes shipping is too much... other times it's not. I also try to look for sellers with high feedback ratings. 99%+
