It is quite possible for the universe to be both finite and without a boundary. No wall, but still it doesn't go on forever. Here's a way of visualizing it. Imagine that nomatter which direction you choose, you will eventually get back to your starting point if you go far enough in a 'straight' line. Impossible? Free your mind. It happens in two dimensions on the surface of a sphere. While it currently looks like the universe really is infinite, such three dimensional spheres were models used for finite universes until the data showed they are probably wrong.

Does the Universe end? A common question really, is there any end point in it? If there is an area in which the universe ends at, that doesn't make sense. But if it goes on forever, that doesn't make sense also.

My thought would be that the universe is spherical, much like our earth, to where everything just ends up going , but rather a large sphere, an incredible sphere indeed.

I highly doubt that there is an "Edge" of our universe, same that I also doubt that it goes on forever. The most logical explanation would be the it loops over, like a sphere, but that still doesn't really make that much sense either...

The universe IS spherical, because a sphere is the shape that requires the least energy to maintain a given surface area. This is why bubbles are spheres and not wierd shapes instead.

I am of the opinion that the universe does have an end, the spacetime beyond the boundary is too thin to support reality. And therefore does not "exist"

And If im not correct then the universe started with the big bang yes? Now, in the big bang spacetime was created and is currently gettign bigger. Now, outside that spherical bubble there is not even nothing, there is nowhere to be nothing in. All that is, is inside that bubble. The bubble itself isnt even "expanding", it cant expand INTO anything. It is just that the space inside the bubble is getitng bigger.

Wrap your head around THAT if you can....

Well, if there is an end, what defines the end, is there a border, is the "nothing" as we call it, on the other side of this boundary truly the absence of space or just the absence of measurable space.
This is one question I think would have driven even Einstein mad.

so what are your thoughts?

ok im gonna give u the real answer. best answer please:

the universe is expanding, it has been for about 18 billion years. Now the strangest thing, is that the universe isnt expanding into empty space, the universe CREATES space as it goes past. Now, there is a theory that the universe will start to slow down because of all the gravity inside it and then will start to go backwards. The Big Collapse. then it will collapse into the tiny kernel of energy that it once was. Then possible explode again.

our entire universe is actually an air bubble, travelling slowly in an ocean too immense and complicated, yet at the same time so simple, for us to comprehend.
the bubble is rising ever upward, towards a surface unseeable to us, until eventually, in a time unpredictable, it will emerge.
drift for a few seconds of cahos.
and then,
as air bubbles do,
will pop.
and that, is where and when the universe ends.
(note: i could go on about how the bubbles are created by a fishes breathing, and was it one fish or many?, but thats already "How was the universe created? be imaginative." and that was not your question.

This is some thing the human mind can not grasp infinity (there must be an end it cant go on forever)
If you think about it to much you start to realize just how insignificant we actually are.

The universe will never end until the dark shadows light up the stars and hell becomes the universe as the darkness engulfs you all.
Satan will feed on your blood, star death and will live in your universe's darkness, blood and hell forever on.
The universe was called heaven, universe then hell.
HaHa!
Now that's what you call the apocalipse.
In scientific terms darkness is black holes to engulf everything.
Satan is the destroy force and blood is death.
God is the good force.
God+Satan=Nature=Life+Death.
A few million, billion+ years until the apocalipse. My friend/enemy.

The universe will continue to expand until it runs out of energy. At which point it will contract to an ultra-dense state and begin the process anew.
